which do you regret more ? doing something or not doing it ?

So in the country where I go to school we have an optional extra year of school .It's optional because it is not to important for education it's more for life experience such as trying new subjects you haven't tried before,setting up a mini company to experience the life of an entrepreneur & also for travel to see different countries and culture. To explain our school system more I started school at 4 I went to a primary school (equivalent to elementary school) for 8 years then at age 12 I entered secondary school which last for 5 or 6 years depending on if you participate in the extra year I'm currently in my third year of this school and have to make the decision of participating in the year or skipping it.


So that's where I was hoping you could help me with the decision

PROS
All my friends are doing it
I would get to see different countries
Try out enterprising
Get work experience
Hopefully help me with a career choice

CONS
It would add an extra year of school
I hear it's a waste of time and money
Most of my family skipped it and turned out successful
Since I was 11 I was sure I was skipping it(until now )


In your opinion should I skip it or do it ?
(I'm 14 now I will be just turned 17 leaving school of I skip if I don't I'll be just turned18)
